Matthew would say he has blue blood flowing through his veins being an avid Ipswich Town supporter and living in Ipswich almost all his life. He recalls with fond memories his two trips to Wembley to see Ipswich win both the FA Cup and Play Off Final.
Working for one on the towns High Street jewellers for over 25 years he has been very much at the heart of his beloved town.
Matthew is married to Sheryl and they have 4 children, Megan, Sebastian, and twins Henry and Oliver.
Matthew explains his journey to be part of the fellowship at Shepherd Drive has now come full circle. “As a child, I grew up in the Chantry area and attended the Sunday School held at the Community Centre on Hawthorn Drive. When we moved to the other side of Ipswich we attended Caudwell Hall Road Baptist Church, which was supporting the Hawthorn Drive Sunday School. When I was old enough to see my need to make Jesus part of my life I became a member of the church there and it was not long before I was travelling over to the same community centre on Hawthorn Drive that I had attended as a child, but this time as a leader. Over the years I became more involved with the church at Caudwell Hall Road but always with one eye on what was taking place at the church planted on Shepherd Drive. It was around 10 years ago that God called Sheryl and I to move back to the South West of Ipswich to help with the church here. Since this time God has blessed the church as we have see it grow into a warm and friendly fellowship wanting to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the local community.”
